Family & Children’s Association (FCA) is participating in One Island Giving Day on October 26 and I’m asking you to make a donation to FCA on or before that day through my giving page.

We as Long Islanders have so much to be thankful for and a way to express that thanks is to help someone who is in need with a financial contribution.

A little bit about FCA:

Today, right now, the agency serves over 20,000 people in some 30 programs annually ranging from early childhood development through Seniors.

FCA is here for:

·         people suffering with addiction.

·         homeless youth.

·         young people in and aging out of foster care.

·         nursery school children as their parents find employment, take courses or receive necessary   treatment.

·         individuals with a mental diagnosis.

·         families that help their children who have a mental diagnosis remain at home and not be hospitalized.

·         seniors who want to live safely and securely in their homes.

·         seniors living in nursing and assisted living facilities.

In addition, FCA this year opened the first recovery center on Long Island, T.H.R.I.V.E. (A Center for Transformation, Healing, Recovery, Inspiration, Validation and Empowerment) in Hauppauge to help individuals and families find, maintain, and strengthen their recovery through peer-based support, navigation assistance and referral services.

Take a moment and think about our neighbors who need your help, the least of our brethren, and then hit the donate button. It feels good to give.

Thanks and I wish you and your families the happiest of holidays as we give thanks for our blessings.
